The dictionary is your best friend

That ought to teach me to check the dictionary before agreeing to draw a 'phalanx' for someone.

Simple luxuries

This afternoon I ate what could probably be the bext icecream in my life.

The icecream truck came at about 1pm. I have quite a craving for sweetcorn icecream but the truck was out of sweetcorn icecream. So the icecream man gave me something like two scoops of yam + chocolate +... something. I think it was vanilla. Gossakes, the three flavors blended together very well, and there was a load of chocolate chips! Even more than those you get in Walls XChoc or those classy icecreams.

And how much did two scoops of heaven cost? RM1. That's half the price of a Drumstick. Ate so many Drumsticks the past month that got quite sick of it.

Ah, pleasure.

Thought of the day

Evolution is a lie. We should have evolved out of wisdom teeth and leg hair.

More arcades, less boutiques

Went out to Sunway Pyramid with my sister today. She's also having her holidays now, after graduating from the matriculation course. So anyway, after having our brunch at Long John Silver's we split up because she planned to meet up with her college friends, which I have no part in.

The biggest joy I find in a shoppin center would be its arcade. So I followed the signboard saying 'Playworks'. 'Playworks', sounds promising. But I was... disappointed. The most sophisticated machine there was probably the ParaParaParadise machine. The rest were machines with faded screens from the early '90s. Since I find no joy in these machines, I went around exploring the rest of the place.

It's a weird feeling where about 70% of the place were clothing stores, it just feels... empty. The stores were empty (probably because it isn't sale season), and the workers just have this empty forlorn look in their eyes.

I spent about another half an hour there before covering all four floors of the shopping center, then I proceeded to Subang Parade, which is probably bigger, but is just as bad in entertainment terms. One tiny arcade, with games I recognize from my NES and Sega Megadrive days.

DDR Extreme, how I miss you.

Morning jog

Ah, just came back from a morning jog. I can't remember when was the last time I morning-jogged, probably back when I need to tuck in my shirt when in school. It was... tiring, to say the least. Now my legs hurt as well as my arms (from the pushups I did earlier).

The morning air was good though, except at the two rubbish dumps I passed. Well, at least better than the stuffy air in my room. Gotta clear up the trash and wash up my laundry.

One more hour to my Data Structures paper. I'll go take a shower before there's a crowd in the bathroom.

Two papers down, two more to go.

Whew, took me quite some time to update the blog because my life has been pretty messed up the last few days, been sleeping a lot because I was... tired, what else?

Anyway, just finshed the two easier papers, Moral & Ethics and Computer Modelling. Actually I won't say that they're simple, more like 'stupid'. Here's an actual question from the Moral paper, verbatim:

The person will feel lost, abused, and used and they often left in an extreme state of rejection, devaluation, and loss of self-esteem. This type of cohabitation is called ___________________.

Uh... cohabitation that leaves one of the people "lost, abused and used"? I'm not sure if the examiner would get back at me if I put in 'child prostitution'. I can't remember what I wrote though.

For our Modelling paper, there's this MCQ part we have to fill in an OMR with a 2B pencil. I had my pencil alright... but I forgot to bring my eraser. And since I can't double check structured questions or am able to correct the MCQs, I left the exam hall in half an hour. Go me.

Took them some time but they replied anyway

Just now I received a call from McDonald's regarding the complaint I made some time ago, probably more than a month. I'm glad that they took some action, or at least take care of their customers.

What happened: One night I was at the McDonald's behind Kota Raya, taking my dinner, when this guy came straight to me and asked me for money in a rather threatening way. Needless to say I was pretty pissed about it and went off to complain to the staff there, and subsequently wrote another one at their website. And... they actually called back! The lady over the phone sounded pretty sweet, telling that the McDonald's have hired security personnel to make rounds. Iwouldn't know if that's true since I guess I won't be going there for quite a while, but hey, thanks a lot, McD. Oh, the McEggs rock too.

Anyway, I can't remember what happened over the last two weeks... all was just rushing assignments and handing them up. Now that almost everything's gone (with final exam to go), I should have more time to blog. Cheers!
